Commercial & Industrial development:
Compass Distribution Park is located immediately south of the M 50 adjacent to the Ballymun interchange and totals 37 acres. Planning permission was obtained initially for 600,000 ft.² of distribution space with small units located to the west and larger units located to the east of the site.
The lands were not served by a public sewer so on-site sewage treatment was proposed and approved as part of the original planning permission.
After initial site development works had been completed Tesco sought to develop one of their main distribution centres, requiring a major part of the land to the east. A revised planning permission was obtained for this and a remodelling of the site layout was agreed to facilitate Tesco’s proposed development.
McMullan & Co were involved in the site identification and negotiations with the landowner, developing the concept, obtaining planning permission and carrying out site development works. We were also involved in the negotiations with Tesco, related discussions with the planning authority and in obtaining planning permission. When permission had been obtained Tesco carried out the related works with their own professional team.
